Benjamen YTTG – What the Hood Needs EP Is a Whole Vibe

You know when you're sitting in a restaurant and they have an artist performing while people are eating? And the music just goes so well with the food — not too loud, not too extravagant — just the right amount that makes the whole experience worth it. As the musician plays his guitar or saxophone, you're just there enjoying conversations with friends or family, being serenaded by that soft, soulful, jazzy background vibe?

Now that is the exact same feeling I get from listening to What the Hood Needs EP by Benjamen YTTG.

He gives life and hope in this tape — and when we're surrounded by all the noise and the pressure of what society expects from us, this is the type of tape you can just sit back, relax to, and vibe with. YTTG has entered a new phase in his career — a more melodic feel to his rap. Like a Phora-type style: more melodical, but still filled with deep, insightful thoughts and advice.

This 5-track EP just gives off that good vibe energy. You can literally replay this tape over and over and never get tired of it.

These three tracks speak volumes to me personally. They help me understand the type of person Benjamen is and give insight into his musical identity. Young Taylor has definitely elevated and found himself through music and this right here is what it’s supposed to be about: original, unique, and way different from the norm we hear on a daily basis.

Benjamen has laid his foundation solid. His music is like an edible once it kicks in, it takes you on a lekker journey 🤞🏽 while you just enjoy being high on the moment.

Excellent job by DJ Gakkie and Benjamen YTTG this tape is pure gold. A memorable experience that we can always come back to and enjoy. Solid work from both creatives the chemistry is undeniable.

If the EP is this good, then I can only imagine how fire the album’s gonna be if he decides to drop one. That’s a project I’m definitely looking forward to I can assure you, it’ll be even better.
